About Fiona

Fiona has been in practice since 1997 and has specialised in pregnancy/post partum care and paediatrics locally since 2005 following completion of a Masters in Paediatric Osteopathy.

She has worked as a postgraduate paediatric clinical tutor, lecturer and examiner in paediatric osteopathy in the UK and Europe and passionately believes that all children can benefit from osteopathic treatment to support and gently guide them through all stages of development.  Fiona has contributed to the Osteopathic Development Group guidance document for osteopaths who work with children and young people.  She also works as a Covid 19 Clinical Contact Caseworker to support the NHS during the current Covid19 epidemic.

Previously a director of an interdisciplinary children's therapy centre in London, she has extensive experience of complex need paediatrics and has also worked at Barnet NHS neonatal unit.

Fiona is an advocate for interdisciplinary collaborative models in paediatric healthcare.  Alongside her professional experience, she has considerable personal experience of the challenges faced by parents dealing with their children’s health conditions.  She co-founded The Clinicians Collective which encourages and supports practitioners involved with children's healthcare to work collaboratively, across disciplines, to produce the best possible clinical outcomes for their patients and families.

Fiona is a committee member of the Osteopathic Alliance and an elected council member and Director of the Institute of Osteopathy, working with the profession to influence and shape the future of Osteopathic practice in the UK.  She is also a professional mentor with the osteopathic mentoring programme.

Alongside her professional experience, Fiona has considerable personal experience of the challenges faced by parents managing their children’s health conditions. She believes passionately that osteopathy plays an important supportive role within any paediatric medical management team.
